Who would have ever thought that a person could make a lucrative career out of internet gambling? While in college, a friend began playing poker through an internet gambling site just to waste some time. Over the next couple of years, he began to win consistently and was able to make quite a bit of money and started spending more and more of his time on internet gambling sites, mainly playing Texas Hold?em. Over time, he began to get better and began to know which players he could beat and created a winning strategy. For awhile, he was even bankrolling his friends to play so that he could earn even more money.
As college ended, he was offered a position with the headquarters of a large bank and starting working in the corporate world. Within a few weeks, he realized he did not like working for a company and began thinking of possibly making internet gambling his true career since he was still playing regularly and making good money. He quit his job and ran with the idea. He shared an apartment with a friend who was a medical student and continued to stay up practically all night playing poker online. While he was not making outrageous money at the time, he certainly was able to pay bills and live a comfortable lifestyle by making a living through internet gambling.
All of our friends were quite jealous of his ability and initiative to actually make this a reality. Working in a bank, going to medical school, and being a consultant certainly were not as entertaining (or lucrative, believe it or not) as playing poker online. He then moved back home for awhile to save some money and ?focus? on internet gambling. Three years later, he is making over $100,000 per year through his ?career? in internet gambling. He plays in tournaments online, gets free trips and comps in Las Vegas in actual casinos, and has even received job offers from online casinos to work behind the scenes. Of course, that would mean giving up the internet gambling portion and he is not quite ready to do that! It seems that he will not be taking any sort of corporate job any time soon. And it doesn?t seem like he really needs to ? he has found something he loves to do, is good at it, and has made it his career.
