We may all love or appreciate different seasons, but I can state one issue as fact. No one in their right mind wants to be burning hot or freezing cold. It's just not comfortable. That's why every summertime you'll see central air blasting in homes across the country, and during the winter months you'll spot smoke rising from countless chimney-tops. We like to keep things moderate. After all, our bodies have to be able to maintain a certain comfortable degree for us to be happy. Makes sense. Well, currently my concern is heat. As in I need it to stay warm and cozy in the home. This is why I resort to my superior fireplace to take the edge off. Sure, I like central heating and forced gas just as much as the next guy, but I LOVE my wood-burning fireplace. What do you cuddle up by?
Fireplaces are as popular as ever before. While gas has been deemed the superior fireplace in the last decade or two, wood-burning fireplaces seem to be making a comeback. This is most likely due to the rise in gas prices. Personally I have always preferred the real deal. There are some serious advantages that make the old-school wood-burning fireplace the superior fireplace to have in your home. Okay, so it's no mystery that you're going to have to purchase wood. It's sold in cords and it's generally delivered to your home. Where I live you can purchase a cord for 140 bucks. Not to shabby if you ask me. You'll probably want to stack it in a rack of some kind and cover it with a tarp. It's typically advised not to stack it in your garage, since it can draw termites. Now, once you've got the wood for the winter, you're set. Now, back to those advantages. For one, you can cook on a wood-burning fireplace. This comes in rather handy at times. Maybe you want a hotdog or smores. Then there's the fact that you don't have to worry about gas leaks. Finally, the most important issue to address is power. What if yours goes out? How will you keep warm? Not a problem with a superior fireplace that burns wood. You don't need power for these.
Ever since I was little I loved wood-burning fireplaces. The rage of the flames and the soothing crackle. If you've experienced this first-hand, you can definitely see why the wood-burning fireplace is indeed the most superior fireplace option of all.
